The New York Dream Act a proposal that would have expanded state-funding tuition assistance for undocumented college students failed in the State Senate of New York on March 17, 2014.
The bill failed 30-29, losing by two votes. In order for the bill to have passed 32 votes were needed. Unfortunately, two Democratic State Senators voted against the bill.
The Senate vote on this bill will most likely end the debate on New York’s Dream Act for the rest of the year.
